Arrive Sunday evening having eaten - or we can direct you to a good pub nearby. Included in the price is bed and breakfast from Sunday to Friday morning and a two course dinner from Monday to Thursday. Also included are two riding activities, normally lessons, in the mornings from Monday to Thursday, and one riding activity on Friday morning before leaving. There are many pubs locally, serving good pub grub at lunchtime or you can buy buns from Dents, the village baker, with excellent fillings. For those arriving without their own transport to collect lunch we can arrange this for a modest supplement. In the afternoon if you are feeling energetic, and we have availability, you may have a lesson, or hack through lovely countryside on safe bridleways at school prices less 10%. There are many attractions in the area - good golf courses, Durham Cathedral, Beamish Museums, Hadrian's Wall, the Metro Centre, Eldon Square and many others to occupy afternoons. These of course are ideal if you come with a non riding companion. Notes on our Winter offer When we set out to do our sums for those special offers naturally we asked ourselves in seeking to keep the prices down how we could do so without sacrificing the quality we offer. We could not compromise on teaching or horse care, the decoration and comfort of the house, nor our reputation for serving excellent food. However we have noticed that horsey people are very tidy in their bedrooms so to keep the offer price down the best way seemed to reduce bedroom service and ask you to make your own beds. Cream cleaner and a cloth will be placed in every bath or shower room. Your waste bins will be emptied every day and if you require fresh towels please discard your old ones in the shower or bath and they will be replaced with fresh ones. The riding programme outlined above is not variable. It would be appreciated if you did as much of your packing as posible before the Friday morning hack.
