Ivesley
Ivesley is a comfortable 18th century Country House and Equestrian Centre
set in its own 220 acres of magnificent farmland and countryside. It was
originally a hunting lodge for Brancepeth Castle's West Park. It's avenue
of beech trees date from the 1550's, planted to mark the end of the Black
Death of 1348.
Only 7 miles from the medieval Durham City, with it's famed Cathedral,
Castle and University, also other internationally famous attractions.
It is well placed for the rider and non-rider alike.
Guests
We aim to treat our guests as house guests rather than setting out to
be an hotel. There is a large drawing room with TV and a large dining
room. Most bedrooms have private facilities. All rooms have been decorated
and furnished to a very high standard and are centrally heated. You will
be free to come and go as you please.
We serve excellent food and wine. We are fully licensed and there is a
good wine cellar.
Holidays
We offer Week stays, mid week, weekend breaks, special 2 day winter breaks
and bed & breakfast at reasonable prices. The Riding Holiday prices
is inclusive of food and accommodation, horse hire and instruction. DIY
livery (including hay or hay large) if you bring your own horse.
